The Human Factor

The Human Factor

The Provision For The Vision

Being in the midst of business of HR for the last decade, I have seen various organisations nurture a vision to grow and prosper, but in the process they often fail to set the pace and foundation right. What plays an instrumental role in the growth is the quality of manpower, which in turn, fuels the corporate machinery. Needless to mention, HR is one of the most crucial and indispensable pillars in an organisation which can actively contribute towards achieving these desired results. But without embracing technology in today’s world of HR, there cannot be required accelerations.

History suggests that a lot of organisations have failed to have a sustainable business model because of an ill-equipped HR system. The current scenario with a shrinking talent pool; where the pressure to hire, sustain and retain is high - the need of digital technology becomes all the more vital. It is always good to have a vision but to reach the vision, it is important to create a provision. Often technology is considered as a cost, but I call it an investment which will significantly contribute. A smart system in place will help you get the best talent available, map their performance, help in pointing out training and developmental needs, etc. It is not always the administrative excellence tool, but an imperative business intelligence data bank which prospects the future and opportunities there. Not to my surprise, I find a lot of managers hesitant to use technology as a tool, as they find it alien and with a close-ended adoption psychology. The best way to take the maximum utilisation of the digital technology is to befriend it, thereby unleashing the wealth of knowledge which makes your decision process more logical and supplemented with substantial facts. It will not be ambitious if I say your HR department can help you take on your competitors by keeping your workforce in shape and in good spirits. It will only happen if your HR department is equipped to do so. Without adequate digitisation, information and communication will not yield the expected results in today’s business orb. Digitisation is one medium that has been gaining impetus since its inception. The thought of tomorrow with an empowered HR really excites me as an invention and technology is of no use unless they are well put into practice. The issue talks about the different aspects of technology unveiling a lot of facts and annotations on the HR trends with regards to digitisation of the HR forum. I admire the assiduous efforts of the digital team to have created www.thfdigital.com with the foresight to provide a common dais to HR professionals around the world to voice their outlook.
